Thanks for sharing and the insights. I am happy that you found a product that works well.
I am almost 6 months natural. I found a few products that I like such as Carol's Daughter smoothie. The smoothie does wonders for detangling. I also like coconut oil and shea butter. For my twists, organic lock and twists gel works great! I am going to mix some water, infusium 23, and glycerin together and she how my hair does.
I just posted my 5 month natural hair journal on youtube..http://ning.it/hemIeD, take a look and enjoy!

Permalink Reply by Donna Richardson on April 11, 2011 at 7:38pm Great video. Gotta give it to you! you sure were brave to chop everything off. Your hair is growing great. I was totally afraid to do that so I wore wigs & braids & cut off chunks each month from the remaining permed areas. I need to put up a picture, I don't have that many with my hair natural. I will try the smoothie to help detangle because it's a pain combing through after washing. Surprisingly I have not yet worn a twist out. I just wear the locsocs to accentuate. I guess I am lazy & thinking of the time it'll take me to retwist.

Permalink Reply by Angela McKnight on April 12, 2011 at 1:42pm Hi Donna, thank you. The first time I did twists I was like omg, what did I do? But after the third time, it became natural to me. I tend to do my twist at night sitting in bed while watching TV. I would love to see a picture of a picture. Yes, please do try Carol's Daughter smoothie, it will indeed help with the detangling. Thanks again and talk with you very soon.
The Organic Root Stimulator Natural Care Lock and Twist Gel is great. It help defines your twists especially when you where a twist out.

Permalink Reply by Donna Richardson on April 15, 2011 at 6:04pm I finally found a picture. This was in december'10. i don't like the root stimulator products because they contain chemicals I cant pronounce. & they claim to be organic but they are not. I don't use anything on my hair anymore that has chemicals.
